Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Participants will be able to describe the unique etiology of and clinical considerations related to perinatal substance use disorders.
2. Participants will explore the impact of contextual and culturally rooted factors on perinatal substance use disorders.
3. Participants will be able to summarize the unique implications of perinatal substance use disorders on the parent-child dyad and implications for treatment.
4. Participants will have practical knowledge and tools they can apply to support clients with perinatal substance use disorders.
5. Participants will be able to describe various pharmacological interventions, and their unique considerations, that can be utilized for treatment of perinatal substance use disorders.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cancel before February 20, 2026, you will get a full refund minus a $50.00 processing fee.  If you cancel February 20, 2026, or later, you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee minus a $50.00 processing fee.  Fees can be transferred to future events, and substitutions are accepted.

Continuing Education Credit:

Physician CMEs: The AAFP has reviewed Perinatal Substance Use Disorders Training, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 12/08/2025 to 12/08/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This session is approved for 7.25 live synchronous AAFP Prescribed credits. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

Psychologists: Postpartum Support International (PSI) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Postpartum Support International (PSI) maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  Completion of this course provides 7.25 hours of continuing education credits.

New York State Psychologists: Postpartum Support International (PSI) is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists PSY 0298. 

Social Workers: Postpartum Support International, #2361, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 4/11/2025 - 4/11/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 7.25 clinical continuing education credits.

Counselors: Postpartum Support International has been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6765. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Postpartum Support International is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Occupational Therapists: PSI is an approved provider of CEUs by American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Provider #11342. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA or indicate AOTA approval of a certification or other professional recognition.

Additional Information: The fee for continuing education certification is included in the registration fee.  Continuing education certificates will be emailed approximately three weeks after the training event.  Candidates for continuing education certification must document their time at the event by signing in and out for the event.  There are no activities (other than lunch and breaks) within the course that are not offered for continuing education credit.  Any grievances should be addressed with staff persons onsite at the event.  Alternatively, grievances may be addressed to Wendy Davis, Executive Director of PSI, by calling (800) 944-4773 or by email at wdavis@postpartum.net.

Dietary Preferences/Restrictions:

All meals are served buffet style, and gluten-free and vegetarian options are ordered for each meal.  If you have specific dietary needs, we suggest getting near the front of buffet lines to serve up before any depletion or cross-contamination occurs. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.  If your need is critical, we recommend bringing your own meals.
