Summary

This one-hour interactive webinar will be presented live on Friday September 29 at 12 CST/1 EST. Race-based microaggressions can exacerbate the stress and vulnerability that folks of color may expereicne during the perinatal period and can have numerous negative outcomes on physical and mental health. Microaggressions can also deepen existing divides between white folks and folks of color and can interfere with group-based work. We will examine how racial microaggressions can occur during perinatal mental health settings and will also build capacity for professionals to address them with confidence and skill. We will identify and discuss ways that perinatal professionals can respond when we witness microaggressions and why this is important in the context of our work. CEs available for live event. Recording available post-training, but not CEs. Zoom link will be sent after registration.
