Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders are something that I am extremely passionate about. In 2003, I had my first child, Logan, and was brought to my knees with severe postpartum depression and anxiety.  Surrounded by loved ones, and friends, who knew how to help navigate my care, I was able to get the help I needed to be well.  In 2006, I had my second child, Emma, and once again began to have similar symptoms.  Having gone through it before, I was less shocked by what was happening, and able to quickly go back to what helped me get well, three years earlier.  I used my personal experience, in my work with families, and worked hard to make sure that universal screening was initiated where I worked at the time. In 2018, I became the new "Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder Program Coordinator" for IU Health. I replaced the woman in that position, who was instrumental in my recovery, and I now work with women every day, to give them hope that they too, can be well, after experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.  Parenting is tough enough. Women and families need to have support if they are dealing with these issues.  They need to know that they will be well, with treatment! Please help me raise money for this very important cause.  It can save lives and families!!!!
