This photo is from the first "Climb out of Darkness" fundraiser event in which I participated, pictured with me is my son Zach and ever-supportive Callie Reynolds. While this was the first event, my personal "climb out of darkness" occurred 26 years ago after the birth of our baby girl, when I suffered from postpartum anxiety and depression. Since then, I have been passionate about preventing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and supporting women and families through the challenges of becoming parents. While I am unable to be there on June 22nd, I am still determined to support this important fundraiser for PSI-CT! This morning as I walked farther than I have in many months, I thought of my goal of being able to walk 4 miles by summer. This summer's "Climb out of Darkness" for me will be walking every day a little farther, until I am able to walk 4 miles. Donations for the Climb out of Darkness will go toward expanding our awareness program for Connecticut pediatric and obstetric offices of all of the support groups, training and resources that PSI and PSI-CT offer. Please donate to help reach my goal of $1800 (100 x 18 (Chai/"Life")! I will donate $100-if 17 others donate $100, or 34 donate $50, or 68 donate $25, we will easily reach $1800!
