I did The Climb last year, when Rhi was about 6 weeks old....and I was in the midst of some signifcant post-partum anxiety, different than anything I had experienced with my first two kids. Walking that day was the start of the hard work I put in to my maternal mental health over the past year. Last year I climbed for me...this year I climb to let other mamas know: it's OK to ask for help, there is a supportive community of moms who see you, hear you and feel you, and there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
Postpartum Support International's Climb Out of the Darkness is the world's largest event for raising awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, while raising money and building community.
