After the birth of my youngest daughter Grace, I developed symptoms of severe postpartum depression and anxiety. The symptoms were severe enough that inpatient psychiatric care was needed.  This experience truly changed the trajectory of my life personally, professionally, and spiritually and ignited a new-found passion in perinatal mental health.  

I had wonderful support from my family, friends, and medical professionals, but not all families experiencing a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder get the treatment and support they so desperately need.  That's why I volunteer with the Postpartum Support International Indiana Chapter (PSI-IN).  The mission of PSI-IN is to promote awareness, prevention, and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing across the state of Indiana.  We are working hard to support families and train medical professionals about perinatal mental health conditions!
