I truly believe that post partum depression is more common then new moms or dads like to believe. There is no worse feeling in the world than having had a child growing in your womb for forty weeks and then being so overwhelmed after their birth, that you get sucked into a deep dark pit of depression. I know it happens, it happened to me.

It happens to dads as well for different reasons, one of them being that dads sometimes feel  inadequate. Moms can sometimes be the main parent to feed, bath, or dress the baby which sometimes leaves dads feeling unintentionally left out. Parents whom have experienced post partum depression or perinatal mood disorders often times struggle with feeling angry, anxious, panicky, irritable and sad.

By donating to Good Beginnings you are helping to ensure that their hard work is always available for free to families whom may be struggling and need the postpartum support. Having a child is not easy, kids don't come with manuals, but there is a large community of caring people who can shine some light during those tough times.  So please support Good Beginnings, support new families and shine your light!

If you can't donate please consider going to the March, on Saturday June 15th at 10:00AM @ Statehouse lawn.
