On June 23, 2019, I’ll be participating in Climb Out of the Darkness Cleveland, a walk to raise awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The first 12 months of motherhood were incredibly challenging for me, and I had an incredibly difficult time suffering from postpartum depression, anxiety, and PTSD related to a traumatic birth. I have found so much support through POEM (Cleveland Chapter), and I have since completely recovered through the use of medication, selfcare, group & private therapy, and time. I encourage all moms (pregnant & postpartum) to reach out for support. You are not alone!
